Zemax OpticStudio sequential and non-sequential models, merit functions, and tolerance budgets. Geometry export (STEP or IGES) for mechanical teams.

Published OpticStudio work has included merit-function optimization against a misplaced stop, a catalog-lens prototype held to a stated MTF, and custom extensions that score a lens for detection. The engineering record stays in the named tool.

Fixed-fee projects. Scope, deliverables, and price are agreed in writing before work starts.

### Typical problems

- Image quality has to hold when a phone, barrel, or package is not perfectly seated.
- A tolerance set has to be checked before a design is quoted for production.
- Standard lens metrics do not say whether a sensor will detect a faint target.
- A mechanical team needs STEP or IGES, not a screenshot of the prescription.

### Deliverables

- A native OpticStudio file
- A merit function and a tolerance budget when the scope includes them
- STEP or IGES geometry
- A custom extension when the scoping note calls for one
- A written report of assumptions, methods, results, and recommended next steps, for internal review or a vendor RFQ.

Tools: Zemax OpticStudio, plus custom programs and scripts.
